  1. [...] a limited number of fixed gear frames under “Volume Cutter”, not to be confused with the Schwinn Cutter. According to Volume, the frame is solid enough to handle the same abuse as their BMX frames. [...]

no fixed hub though, youll have to buy/find one to use if you want a fixed gear bike, its just a single speed currently, for 50 more you could get a motobecane messanger that has a better crank and hub set-up imo. still nice on the price and a great looking bike though

Pretty nice starter bike. I got a fixed cog and Rota fixed it. works nicely enough.

what does high tensile steel mean by that??

Drove 100 miles to see it because the Orlando dealer was kind enough to build the different Cutter sizes and put one on the floor. As the stud-tongued young blond assured me she’d never heard of a ‘Madison’ and that, in any case their were no ‘adult’ Schwinns in the store, I observed that the black single-speed I was leaning against as she dispensed her wisdom was indeed a new 329.00 XL Schwinn Cutter. Low low price point, very very heavy, plumbing, steel piping-not tubing. Is a frame important? Wheels? I came with cash, just in case, but in seconds it was easy to look to something else for value for up to twice the price.

i bought one today at Safety Cycles on N Western…just south of Santa Monica Blvd…$353.96 total w/ krypto cable lock….im new to road bikes and am pleased in all my bike novice-ness…im 5’9″ and got a medium…which may be a hair tall…but my other option was a large so…yeah:)…rode it all the way back to echo park…pretty easy even being a little out of shape and having an older pair of smokers lungs…that’ll all change soon though:)

I got my cutter a couple of days back. And I love it. I rode from upper Manhattan to the middle of Brooklyn and back. Even beat my friend with a tenspeed up the inclines on the bridges. Going to swap out for a fixed hub soon. New rims, pedals, bar and maybe a new crankset. I love the stealth of a onespeed.

I just purchased this bike yesterday, its fun to ride and should be a great base for upgrades.

IMO, the black version looks like a police bike.

I plan on upgrading to road style handlebars, a better and lower-angle stem, peddles, maybe a smaller sprocket, etc…..
