The love for cycling is spreading and becoming evermore apparent in t-shirts. When We Were Kids, an emerging independent apparel site, has dropped a shirt of their own with three different colorways. Their new shirts feature “velovelo” under graphics of a cyclist on the front.

Some tech savvy cyclist came up with a fixed gear calculator that can be downloaded as an iPhone or iPod Touch application via the iPhone App Store. The fixed gear calculator is capable of calculating gear ratios, gain ratios, gear inches, and development – to list a few. The calculator is only offered in English at the moment and requires at least 1MB of disk space on an iPhone running 2.0 software or an iPod Touch. Check out more details here.

The Staples New Era 59FIFTY “Thinking” Cap was not inspired by the fixie movement, rather New Era wanted to promote thoughts. However, their hat defiantly looks fixie affiliated.
New Era’s Thinking Hat (or should I say fixie hat) comes in three different styles: A black Fitted cap with yellow gears (or sprockets), a white based hat with red embossing, and a green cap with white embossed graphics. Each fitted hat also comes with a New Era flagship logo, themed the same color as the hat’s gears.

Fixie Inc, am international track bike specialist and dealer, has got something new in the fixed gear handlebar category. They call them “Car Scratchers”, and you can see why. The unique design of these host pointed ends on both sides. I can just visualize a cyclist on his or her fixie getting even with a few assholes behind their wheels. Thanks for giving us fixed gear riders some sort of defense mechanism Fixie Inc!
