Introducing the new addition to Bianchi Pista in 2009. Because most conventional cyclist object to riding a fixed gear for the absence of a break to stop with, Bianch has added another Pista to their 2009 line up. The new Bianchi Pista 2009 line up will include the look and feel of a fixed gear bike but with breaking amenities. Not only will the Pista include front and rear breaks for the first time since its existence, but it will also have a straightbar rather than bullhorn handlebars. Bianchi will offer their conventional cyclist friendly track bike in two of their past color schemes, blue and chrome, and at a slightly higher price than Bianchi’s standard Pista.

Felt has got something new in the track bike category for 2009. The Felt TK2 and TK3 offer track cyclist both an ultra light and stiff ride and a great design. The TK2 features an Aluminum Custom Butted Aero Super-light 7005 Frame with Felt specific carbon fiber forks. Themed Gloss White, Black and Olympic Gold, the Felt TK2 screams competition. Especially considering its weight, 16.06 pounds.

The Felt TK3 differs in looks from the TK2 with a Black and Red color pattern. It also weights slightly more at 17.97 pounds. All together, I have to say that the their geometry is on point.

If you’ve every tried taking your bike on a plane ride, you probably remember encountering an additional expense of about $60 or more (as if there wasn’t enough fees associated with travel already). The Freeman Transport Collapsible Fixed Gear bike breaks down to fit into its custom bag so you can bring it as your carry-on. Not only does its unique design spare you some doe, it does it looking good, too. Judging strictly off of appearance, Freeman’s fixed gear is clean looking, which surprised me because usually all-in-one products tend to lack in certain areas – appearance being one of them. It comes with a case which resembles an over-sized messenger bag and goes with the color scheme of the bike, matted army green and black. No word on its performance but we’ll keep you posted.

In collaboration with Obey, Fuji, the founders of the “Tour of Japan” has created this retro looking Limited addition Fixed Gear track bike for the urban streets of every city. The Fuji Elios 2 frame, feature a Matte Black finish with graphics by OBEY. The bike is dressed in gold parts, which complements the frame’s color.

When I first set eyes on Fuji x Obey’s retro looking track bike at a shop in San Francisco, it didn’t appeal to me. For a manufactured bike, it certainly wasn’t bad; but for a Fuji x Obey, I expected a lot more, as I do with all collaborations. However, their popularity among urban boutique display windows allowed for many double takes. I liked the over all design, its colors, and high quality parts; I came to the conclusion that it was just something about Obey’s graphics that irked me. MSRP: $1420.

To my surprise the Japanese know a different Bianchi Pista then other parts of the world and in many of there fan’s opinions Bianchi has beefed it up for Japan when compared to the states. Not only does the Japanese color scheme appeal more to the eyes of an urban fixed gear rider so does the enhanced frame and forks. That’s right… And for around the same retail price ($500 – $600 USD), too. I can just imagine how stunning this bike would look like in other similar colors.
