Cranksgiving has spread throughout the United States, while the New York Alleycat Fundraiser race is in its 11th year. Located in LA, or going to be in the area on November 15th, then check out the 3rd version of Bike Day LA. Some of the stuff going on at the Bike Day LA events are track stand competitions, alley cat races, and trick comps. Sounds like a lot of fun, wish I could attend the event.
Last Thursday (9/18) was the first, in a series of two goldsprint competitions sponsored by PUMA and Vice. The I-Cycle Space at Vice Gallery was the battle grounds for the first I-Cycle Throwdown that brought together a mix of industry leaders, brands and bike messengers in a head-to-head stationary bike race. The night featured a diverse mix of teams, ranging from Complex Magazine, Staple Design, Fader Magazine, D.A.R.T (Mishka NYC), CycleHawk. The night was full of intense competition, as teams looked to post their best times and qualify for this Friday’s finals.

Several mouth drooling trailers later, Macaframa Productions – a video crew out catching the life of a fixed gear rider on film – has finally made September 24, 2008 the light at the end of the tunnel for many eager fixed gear enthusiasts. The premier of there highly anticipated video will be held at the UNLV Student Union Theater in Las Vegas, NV at no cost. There will also be an opportunity to hang with the crew over BBQ, so plan early.
